Over the next few weeks, I will do very few postings as my students are 'on holiday'. Nonetheless, my work is on-going. I am more and more interested in how certain processes - like dyslexia - affects Muslims. My understanding is that there are hundreds of thousands of Malays who are dyslexic and don't know about it. A really cool website is "The Dyslexic Advantage". Anyway, dyslexic is not a problem but it does have to be managed. Whether or not you are successful / happy / grateful to Allah depends on your ability to understand yourself (including the way your mind processes information) well enough to turn apparent disabilities into strengths.

Ridding Oneself of Jealousy, Hatred, and Resentment
Mohamedali, Assalamu-Alaikum and Greetings !
Most of us live our lives with feelings of hatred for certain people and also feeling jealous of what Allah has granted others in provisions of this life. Such feelings not only rob us of our peace within but also hurt us both in this life and the hereafter. As part of our personal purification efforts so we may please Allah and to live a more peaceful life, we have to work on cleansing our hearts of such feelings and emotions. The post below summarizes sayings of the prophet (s.a.w.) and mentions a story of a person whom the prophet refered to as a person from the people of paradise while the person was still living.
Don't miss the story and the advice of the prophet about this important matter.
As such a disease is quite common in this day and age, please forward this to others as well.

Miffed over Modi, Advani quits all posts in BJP
By IANS,
New Delhi : A day after the BJP appointed Narendra Modi to lead it in the next Lok Sabha election, the veteran L.K. Advani Monday quit all major party posts after accusing most of its leaders of pursuing "personal agendas".
After failing to persuade the BJP not to elevate the ambitious Gujarat chief minister, Advani, who helped the party to grow from an also-ran into a powerful entity in the 1980s, hit back by resigning from the national executive, the parliamentary board and the election committee.
In a stinging letter to Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh, Advani, 86, said he found it "difficult to reconcile either with the current functioning of the party or the direction in which it is going".
The three-para letter made no reference to Modi, who for years enjoyed Advani's patronage, but its tone made it evident that the resignation was linked to the chief minister's elevation at a party meet in Goa Sunday.
The decision to name Modi head of the election campaign committee would have made the Gujarat chief minister -- the BJP's best known Hindutva icon -- its virtual face in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
Advani, who led the BJP in the 2009 Lok Sabha battle which it lost, kept away from the Goa national executive meet citing poor health.
"For some time I have been finding it difficult to reconcile either with the current functioning of the party, or the direction in which it is going," said Advani, increasingly overshadowed in the BJP by second rung leaders.
He said he no longer had "the feeling that this is the same idealistic party" formed in 1951 by Shyama Prasad Mookerji, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Nanaji Deshmukh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee "whose sole concern was the country and its people".
"Most leaders of ours are now concerned just with their personal agendas," said Advani, in one of the harshest condemnation of BJP leaders by anyone within, bringing its internal rift out in the open.
"I have decided, therefore, to resign from the three main fora of the party: national executive, parliamentary board and the election committee. This may be regarded as my resignation letter."
Advani remains a member of the BJP.
The resignation stunned the BJP. Most leaders -- until Monday morning buoyed by Modi's elevation -- declined to react initially. The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), the BJP's ideological parent, called it a "very unfortunate" development.
Within an hour, however, the BJP said it would try to persuade Advani to change his mind. Rajnath Singh tweeted that he had not accepted Advani's resignation.
Sharad Yadav of the Janata Dal-United, a BJP ally in the National Democratic Alliance, said: "It is sad...It is not good for NDA's health."
BJP MP Shripad Naik from Goa added: "This is really unfortunate." BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said the party was confident of asking Advani to take back the resignation.
The Congress appeared happy over the BJP war.
"The BJP has to think. The concerned person has to think. We had already said it (Modi's elevation) will have repercussions," said Janardan Dwivedi of the Congress.
The Karachi-born Advani and the now ill Vajpayee have been for decades the two main pillars of the BJP and its predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Advani joined the RSS in 1947 and the Jana Sangh when it was founded in 1951. He became the BJP president in 1986, when it had only two members in the Lok Sabha, and soon became a strong votary of the Ram temple movement, which helped the BJP to grow and grow.

The Secret of Superiority
The Secret of Superiority
Sahl ibn Sa’d (radi Allahu anhu) reported: “Gabriel (alaihis salam) came to the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) and said, ‘O Muhammad… know that the honour of the believer is in the night prayer…’” [Fiqh-us-Sunnah]
The greatest strength of a Muslim is his one on one communication with his Lord; the Lord of all creation – Allah the Magnificent.
The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) were never defeated on the battlefield. In one of those instances, Heraclitus, the defeated Emperor of Byzantium, rebuked his soldiers:
“Shame on you! What sort of people are those with whom you have just fought? Aren’t they human beings like you?”
“Yes, Your Highness, definitely they are human like us.”
“Alright then, who is greater in number; you or they?”
“Your Highness, we are superior to them in every respect.”
“So why are you defeated whenever you face them?”
An old man from the aristocrats of the Byzantines stood up and told the Emperor:
“Because they spend their nights in worship, they fast during the day, they keep their promises, they suggest the good and avoid the evil, and they share everything among themselves.”
After these words, Heraclitus said:
“You have absolutely told the truth.” [Ibn Asakir]

LOVE AND HATRED – PART 1
by mthago
Allah has created us because He wants us to love Him. Allah gives us many orders to be followed by us with the intention only to please Allah until Allah is pleased with us. Allah orders us to love Allah, those who are loved by Allah and to love all the other creations of Allah. Allah has never order us to hate anyone, any race or any religion. Who are the peoples who are loved by Allah? The peoples who are loved by Allah are those who obey all the orders of Allah with the intention only to please Allah until Allah is pleased. How would we know that Allah loves a person? The peoples who are loved by Allah are those who have the quality of humbleness or tawa’dhu. Allah is Great. There is no one who is Great except Allah. A person who thinks that he or she is great is a person who is away from Allah and not loved by Allah. A person who is humble or tawa’dhu will have good characters. A person, through who, good come to other peoples is a good person. A person who always does good to other peoples, even to those who do evils to him or her is a good person. Good or bad comes only from Allah. Allah showers His blessing to the entire mankind through a man whom Allah has chosen to become the mean to spread His blessing to the entire mankind. The persons who are chosen to be the mean to spread the blessing of Allah to the entire mankind are known as the Prophets. Prophet Muhammad is one of the men who is chosen by Allah to become the mean for Allah to shower His blessing to the entire mankind and to the other creations of Allah. Allah has mentioned in the Quran with the approximate meaning; we have not sent you oh Muhammad except as a blessing to the entire mankind. What is mean by the words; a blessing to the entire mankind? The blessing to the entire mankind means is the correct lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad saw, which when practiced by the entire men, will ensure men to have a life of blessing which is full of happiness in this world and the hereafter.
Good or evil come only from Allah. There is no one who is able to give good and evil except Allah. Allah does only good. Allah never does any evil or bad action. Good or bad comes only from Allah. Allah gives good when men are doing good action and Allah gives evil when men are doing evil action. Wars that exist between men are evil and the evil come from Allah. War and peace come from Allah. Allah is the one who gives peace to men and Allah is the one who gives war to men. Allah is the one who gives good and Allah is the one who gives evil to men. What men should do in order to make Allah gives good to them? Men must do good actions then Allah will give good to men. Good actions are the mean upon which Allah will give good to men and evil actions are the mean upon which Allah will give evil to men. Allah is the one who gives good or evil to men. Allah decides to give good or bad to men according to the actions of men. Men are given the choice either to do good or to do bad actions. When men choose to do bad actions, Allah will give men the permission to do evil actions. When men choose to do good actions, Allah will give men the permission to do good actions.
When men choose to love each other, Allah will give men the permission to love each other. When men choose to hate each other, Allah will give men the permission to hate each other. Allah orders men to love Allah, to love those who are loved by Allah and to love all the creations of Allah. Allah never order men to hate Allah or to hate the persons who are loved by Allah or to hate other creations of Allah. Allah does not order men to hate evils deed and to hate the evil doers. Allah orders us to love even the evil doers. What it means to love the evil doers? It means to prevent the evil doers from committing the evil deeds by inviting the evil doers to do good. When Muslims are doing good deeds, Muslims should not do the good deeds because the Muslims love the good deeds but because it is the order of Allah and only to please Him. Allah orders the Muslims not to do evil deeds. Muslims should avoid from doing the evil deeds, not because the Muslims hate the evil deeds but because it is the order of Allah and to please Allah. Allah orders Muslims to love Allah, to love the persons who are loved by Allah and to love all the creations of Allah. Hatred is not the quality of Allah and it should not become the quality of those who wants to be loved by Allah. When Muslims hate the creations of Allah the Muslims have disobeyed the order of Allah. Allah is the most merciful and the most compassionate. Allah wants men to have the quality of merciful and compassionate. When Muslims are merciful and compassionate toward the creations of Allah, Muslims have obeyed the order of Allah.
We will be able to love all the creations of Allah and to love those who are loved by Allah only when in our heart there is love of Allah. When there is no love of Allah in our hearts, it will not be possible for us to love all the creations of Allah and to love those who are loved by Allah. How men will have love Allah in their hearts when men cannot even see Allah? Although men cannot see Allah but men can see the creations of Allah. Men can also see the good and the bad, which come from the creations of Allah. In order for men to love Allah who is unseen, men need to believe that all the creations, which are visible to men, are created by Allah. In order for men to love Allah who is unseen, men need to believe that good and bad which appear to come from the creations is actually come from Allah. How can such belief of the unseen can come into the hearts and minds of men? In order for such belief to come into the heart and mind of men, the first thing men should do is to recite the Great Kalimah. What is the Great Kalimah? The Great Kalimah is to recite; “I bear witness there is no God except Allah and I bear witness Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
Once men have recited the Great Kalimah, men should do the work, which will make the Great Kalimah enter into their hearts. What is the work to be done? It is the work of inviting mankind to good and forbidding mankind from evil. What is the meaning of the work of inviting mankind to good and forbidding mankind from evil? The non-Muslims must be invited to recite the Great Kalimah and the Muslims must be reminded about the Great Kalimah and must be invited to do the work of inviting mankind to good and forbidding mankind from evils and to perform the five times daily prayers. When a person is speaking and hearing about the meaning of the Great Kalimah repeatedly and with the intention to please Allah until Allah is pleased, Allah will place the Great Kalimah and the love of Allah into the person’s heart. When the Great Kalimah and the love of Allah is inside the heart of a person then that person will be able to love Allah, to love those who are loved by Allah and to love all the creations of Allah.
Allah orders Muslims to deliver the Great Kalimah to the non-Muslims and not to convince the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah. Allah orders Muslims to invite the non-Muslims to become Muslims and not to convince the non-Muslims to become Muslims. Allah does not order Muslims to convince the non-Muslims to become Muslims or to convince the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah. Muslims are ordered by Allah only to convey the Great Kalimah to the non-Muslims. Allah orders the Muslims to convey the Great Kalimah to the non-Muslims with love and affection. Allah does not order the Muslims to deliver the Great Kalimah to the non-Muslims with force. Allah does not order the Muslims to wage war against the non-Muslims who choose not to recite the Great Kalimah or to wage war against the Muslims who choose not to obey the orders of Allah. Prophet Muhammad saw had never wage war against the non-Muslims who do not want to recite the Great Kalimah or against the Muslims who do not want to obey the orders of Allah. Whatever done by the Prophet Muhammad saw is known as Sunnah and the Sunnah is explaining the correct meaning of the Quran. The correct meaning of the Quran can only be correctly interpreted by the actions of Prophet Muhammad saw. Even the actions of the companions of Prophet Muhammad saw cannot be used to interpret the true meaning of the Quran. The actions of Prophet Muhammad saw are the Sunnah, the Sunnah is to explain the wishes of Allah, and the wishes of Allah are the Quran. Our Prophet Muhammad saw has left to the Muslims; the Quran and the Sunnah.
Prophet Muhammad saw has said with the approximate meaning; “Whoever among my umat follows the Quran and the Sunnah, they will not be forever deviated from the correct path, even though the Prophet Muhammad saw is no longer with the Muslims”. The action of Hazrat Abu Bakar r.anhu to wage war against the Muslims who became apostate and who refused to pay alms or zakat after the demise of Prophet Muhammad saw is not the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad saw. Similarly, the action of Hazrat Abu Bakar r.anhu and Hazrat Umar r.anhu to compile the Quran in the form of a book is also not the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad saw. Whatever action of a Muslim, which is not the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad saw, is known as Bid’ah. Bid’ah practices can either be Haram (strictly forbidden) or Makruh (not strictly forbidden). The person who practices Bid’ah, which is Haram, is committing sins but the person who practices Bid’ah, which is Makruh, is not committing sins. There are two types of Makruh. The first type is known as Makruh Tahrimi (not strictly forbidden of the higher level). The second type is known as Makruh Tanzih (not strictly forbidden of the lower level).The actions of Hazrat Abu Bakar to wage war against the Muslims who became apostate and Muslims who refuse to pay zakat after the demise of Prophet Muhammad saw is Makruh Tahrimi and the action of Hazrat Abu Bakar and Hazrat Umar to compile the Quran in the form of a book is Makruh Tanzih.
Allah orders the Muslims to love Allah, to love those who are loved by Allah and to love the whole creations of Allah. Love means to do justice to the non-Muslims and the Muslims. Love means to invite the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah and to remind the Muslims about the Great Kalimah and to invite Muslims to obey the orders of Allah. Islam is a religion of love, but the actions of Muslims do not seem to show that Islam is the religion of love. Non-Muslims will not know about the true teaching of Islam because many of them will never read and learn about Islam. Non-Muslims will only understand about Islam by looking at the actions of the Muslims. In my opinion, it is hard for the non-Muslims to believe that Islam is a religion of love by looking at the actions of the Muslims. What is the true teaching of Islam? Islam teaches the Muslims to love all the non-Muslims and not to hate the non-Muslims. Islam teaches Muslims to invite the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah with love and affection. According to the teaching of Islam a person who never recite the Great Kalimah will never become successful in this world and hereafter and a person who never recites the Great Kalimah will never enter paradise and will never obtain the salvation (syafaat) of the Prophet Muhammad saw. A true Muslim will love the non-Muslims. When Muslims have become the true Muslims, the Muslims will love the non-Muslims in their hearts and when the Muslims love the non-Muslims in their hearts, the Muslims will invite the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah. Nowadays the Muslims are not having the love of the non-Muslims in their hearts and because of that; the Muslims are not inviting the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah. In my opinion, nowadays the Muslims in the whole world are not inviting the non-Muslims to recite the Great Kalimah in the way done by Prophet Muhammad saw, because the Muslims are not having the love to the non-Muslims in their hearts.
Allah loves men and all of His creations. Allah wants men to love Allah. Allah wants men to obey all the orders of Allah and to become successful in this world and the hereafter. Allah has created men with His own hand. As compare to all the other creations of Allah, Allah loves men the most. Allah has created men as His best creation. Allah has created men with His own hand and Allah loves whatever He has created. Who does not love things, which they have created? Everyone loves the things, which they have created. Similarly, Allah who is the creator of men loves men and all the other creations, which are created by Allah. Allah has created men for Him and He has created all the other creations to serve men. Allah wants the whole mankind to become successful in this world and the hereafter. In order for men to become successful men must obey all the orders of Allah in the way shown by the Prophet Muhammad saw and with the intention to please Allah.

MONEY OH MONEY YOU ARE OUR HONEY BECAUSE YOU MAKE MANY!

YOU ARE OUR HONEY
BECAUSE YOU MAKE MANY!
You are the child of our hard work
You are controlling the world as network
You are as soul as rainfall to earth
You have given coins as your birth
You are root of wealth focus
You are acting as token of status
Workers are running behind you
Beggars are too watching upon you!
Wars are being ignited for getting you
Economic competitions are being produced by you
Darken age has been reverted by you
As the God faith is defeated by you
Zealotry is the creation of you
Even though we like you like crazy
But you are not being caught very easy
While we don’t like to be with us
You are coming quickly with bliss
Where did you get this magic?
I can’t understand your logic!
You have put on dress of greed;
And have impressed towards need

Stories of Happiness in Islam
Now surely the friends of Allah, they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve. Those who believe and guarded (against evil): They shall have good news in this world's life and in the hereafter; there is no changing the words of Allah; that is the mighty achievement. Noble Qur'an (10:62-64)
Happiness is a feeling that resides in the heart. It is characterized by peace of mind, tranquility, a sense of well-being, and a relaxed disposition. It comes as a result of proper behavior, both inward and outward, and is inspired by strong faith.
It is the nature of every person to seek happiness. One of the most elusive objectives of every human being is "Happiness." The Noble Qur'an reveals the secret of attaining perfect happiness in this life and forever. We learn from the Noble Qur'an that happiness is an exclusive quality of the soul. Thus, a body that attains all the material successes it longs for - money, power, fame, etc. - often belongs to an unhappy person. Happiness depends totally on the degree of growth and development attained by the soul, the real person. The Noble Qur'an provides a detailed map towards perfect happiness for both body and soul, both in this world and in the eternal Hereafter.
In the numerous verses throughout this proven Testament, Allah (SWT) personally guarantees the believers happiness, now and forever. Some people strive to seek material happiness in this world away from religion, thinking that this is the true happiness. But this kind of happiness will be succeeded by pain and sorrow at the Day of Judgment, and its people will know that their striving led them only to misery and not happiness.
While others know that the true way to happiness is to obey Allah (SWT) and follow His religion. For them the pleasures and riches of the world are of little consequence. When this happiness penetrates and fills the heart of the believer he does in fact live in this world as if he were in Paradise. Those are the people who find true happiness in this world.

The believer lives with such a sweetness in his heart that if the masters of the earth knew of it, they would fight him to death to take it from him. Allah (SWT) has said: "Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did." Noble Qur'an (16:97)
To reach true happiness, we need to know what is the purpose of our life, how to reach success in the hereafter, and to fulfill the requirements of reaching this success by following the commands of Allah (SWT) and His true religion.
We know much about Mars, Earth, moon, stars, and galaxies, thanks to the century of knowledge. But how much we know about our eternal life after death and how to reach success in the hereafter?
People need to eat every day to supply their bodies with energy and to keep themselves healthy. If they stop eating for a period of time, diseases will sneak up upon them and overtake them, and perhaps even kill them. Similarly, people also need food of another kind, food for the spirit and heart. It is unfortunate that while people are careful never to forget to feed their bodies, they do not show the same concern for the health of their souls and hearts. The heart needs food as the body does. The diseases of the body and the debilitating effects they have are not more dangerous than the diseases of the heart and soul.
In the south of Spain, there was a small village whose people were very joyful and lucky. The children played under the shade of trees in the gardens of their home. A shepherd boy whose name was Nasir, stayed near the village with his father, mother and grandmother. Early morning each day, he takes his herd of goats up the hills to find a suitable place for them to graze. In the afternoon he would return with them to the village.
At night his grandmother would tell him a story. The story of stars . This story really interested Nasir. As usual, on one of these days, as Nasir was watching his herd and playing his flute he suddenly saw a wonderful light behind the flower bush. When he came towards the branches he saw a transparent and most beautiful crystal ball.
The crystal ball was glittering like a colorful rainbow. Nasir carefully took it in his hand and turned it around. With surprise suddenly he heard a weak voice coming from the crystal ball. It said; "You can make a wish that your heart desires and I will fulfill it." Nasir could not believe that he had actually heard a voice. But he became so engrossed in his thoughts for he had so many wishes but he must wish for something which was impossible like the wish to be able to fly.
He said to himself, if I wait till tomorrow I will remember many things. He put the crystal ball in a bag and gathered the herd, happily returned back to the village. He decided that he would not tell anyone about the crystal ball. On the following day also, Nasir could not decide what to wish for, because he really had everything he needed.
The days passed as usual, and Nasir appeared to be very cheerful that the people around him were amazed to see his cheerful disposition. One day a boy followed Nasir and his herd and hid behind a tree. Nasir as usual sat in one corner, took out the crystal ball and for a few moments looked at it. The boy waited for the moment when Nasir would go to sleep. Then he took the crystal ball and ran away.

Some of them wished that they would have their own palace with grand door made from pure gold instead of their old houses. Some also wished for bags full of jewelry, but nobody asked for gardens in their palaces. All their wishes were fulfilled but still the citizen of the village were not happy.
They were jealous because the person that had a palace had no gold and the person that had the gold had no palace. For this reason, the citizens of the village were angry and were not speaking to each other. There was not even one garden which existed in the village where the children could play. The patience of the children was running out and they were uncomfortable. Nasir and his family were happy and pleased. Every morning and afternoon he would play the flute.
The children could not wait anymore and decided to return the crystal ball to Nasir. The parents and neighbours went to him. The children said to Nasir; "When we had a small village we all were happy and joyful." The parent also spoke. In one way or another nobody is happy. The expensive palaces and jewelry only bring us pain. When Nasir saw that the people were really regretful, he said I have not wished till now, if you really want everything to return to its own place, then I will wish for it. Everyone happily agreed.
Nasir took the crystal ball in his hand turned around and wished that the village become the same as it was before. Everyone quickly turned towards the village and saw it became the same old village with gardens full of trees and fruits. Once again the people started to live happily and the children played under the shade of trees. From the next day and everyday at sunset the sound of Nasir's flute could be heard in the village.
Moral: This Grandmother Story or Crystal Ball story teaches us that we should be happy and content always, with whatever we have and not to be greedy, because of the following reasons (Wise Old Sayings):
Money cant Buy Happiness

MONEY can buy bed, but not sleep;
MONEY can buy books, but not wisdom;
MONEY can buy food, but not appetite;
MONEY can buy medicine, but not health;
MONEY can buy finery, but not real beauty;
MONEY can buy paintings, but not the artistry;
MONEY can buy a house, but not a home;
MONEY can buy luxuries, but not culture;
MONEY can buy companions, but not friends;
MONEY can buy marriage, but not love;
MONEY can buy clothes, but not personality;
MONEY can buy anything, but not heaven;
MONEY can buy tombstone, but not death;
MONEY can buy almost everything, but not the dignity and respect of being who we are!
Meaning of Happiness in Islam:
Happiness is a feeling that resides in the heart. Happiness is characterized by peace of mind, tranquility, a sense of well-being, and a relaxed disposition. Happiness comes as a result of proper behavior, both inward and outward, and is inspired by strong faith. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "True enrichment does not come through possessing a lot of wealth, but true enrichment is the enrichment of the soul."
There was a young couple who led a very happy life together. The only thing that they worried about was, whether their happiness would last forever or would they too would have to face problems.
One day, they heard that a wise old man had come to town; he could solve all kinds of problems and guide people. So the couple decided to visit the wise old man and tell him their source of worry.
The wise old man told them; "Travel around the world and seek a man and a woman who are perfectly happy as a couple. When you find such a couple, ask them for a piece of cloth from the man's shirt, then keep that piece of cloth with you, and you always remain happy."
The young couple began their journey, to find the happiest couple in their world. In one place they heard that the governor and his wife were the happiest people, so they went to their palace and asked them, "Are you the happiest couple?"
The governor and his wife replied, "Yes, we are happy in every way except for one thing; we do not have any children."
Well that didn't make the governor and his wife the happiest couple. So they continued their journey. They arrived in one city where they had heard that the happiest couple lived. They went to their house and asked them, "Are you the happiest couple?"
The couple replied, "Yes, we are really happy in every way except that we have too many children which make our life a bit uncomfortable."
No, this couple did not sound to be the happiest. And, so they continued their journey. They visited many countries, cities, towns and villages asking the same question but they did not find what they were looking for.
One Day the young couple came across a shepherd in the desert. The shepherd was grazing his sheep when his wife and child came along. The shepherd greeted his wife and gently patted the child she was carrying. She laid the mat and started to eat contentedly. The young couple came to them and asked them, "Are you the happiest couple?"
The shepherd and his wife replied, "Nobody is unhappier than the king." The young couple immediately realized that they were the happiest couple and asked them for a piece of the shepherd's shirt, so that their happiness too would last throughout.
The shepherd said, "If I give you a piece of cloth from my shirt then I will be left without any clothes since I own just one shirt."
The young couple at once understood that it is very difficult to find perfect happiness anywhere in the world. The couple decided to return to their own country. They went to the wise old man and related all that had taken place. They also complained that his guidance was difficult to abide by.
The wise old man laughed and said, "Was your journey useless or did you learn something from it?"
The young man replied, "Yes, after this trip I have learnt that in this world, nobody is perfectly happy, only that person is happy who does everything to please Allah."
Noble Qur'an says: "And whosever follows My (Allah's) guidance, on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve". (2:38)
The wife said, "I have learnt that in order to be happy it is important to remember two things; first, all human beings should be thankful and contented with whatever they have."
Noble Qur'an says: "And your Lord declared publicly: if you are grateful, I will add more favors unto you". (14:7)
"And secondly, for ultimate happiness one must always practice patience."
Noble Qur'an says: "Seek help through patient perseverance and prayers". (2:45)

Noble Qur'an says: "Whosoever follows My (Allah's) guidance, will not loose his way nor fall into misery. But whosoever turns away from My message, verily for him is a miserable life". (20:123-124).
Contentment is the Secret to Happiness in Life
